Dieting TipsDieting tips to help you achieve your goals. Losing weight and dieting are hard, right? But once you find the right combination of a healthy balanced diet and calorie burning exercises, you’ll be on the path to reaching your weight loss goals. And losing those excess inches and pounds will decrease your risk for type 2 diabetes and heart problems like heart attacks or stroke.

Here are 7 of the best dieting tips to help you lose weight and burn more fat:

Dieting tips #1

Clean up your diet – Ditch the garbage, the fatty, high-calorie fast foods, burgers, fries and pizzas. Buy and prepare more natural “single ingredient” foods lean proteins, complex carbohydrates and healthy fatty acids. Each meal should contain a balance of all three macronutrients, protein, carbohydrates and fats.

Dieting tips # 2

Eat more oftenEating smaller, healthier meals and healthy snacks more often (about every 3-4 hours) will stabilize your blood sugar and reduce swings and overproduction and release of insulin and fat-storing hormones

Dieting tips # 3

Drink water – Ditch the colas and sodas and any of the sugar filled juices and frappucinos that are adding 300-500+ calories to your diet EVERY DAY. Water is much healthier and a NO calorie choice. If you need coffee, a cup of black coffee is only 5 calories as opposed to 500 with the foams, syrups and garnish. Drink your first glass of water as soon as you are awake and have another 8-ounce glass with each meal or snack and your final glass about 2 hours before bedtime.

Dieting tips # 4

Write it down – Whether you use a fancy journal or a 99 cent spiral notebook, keep a record of meals, drinks, calories in, exercises and workouts. Add any details that may or did affect your diet and training like the weather, stress (traffic, work, school), special events or occasions. Did anything happen in your life that triggered cravings or emotional eating? Write it down and take time to review your notes and establish patterns and identify causes and effects.

Dieting tips #5

Increase your intensity – If you’ve eliminated all the calories that you can or that you can stand to, but you’re still not making progress, increase the intensity of your training and burn more calories to create the necessary calorie deficit. Use interval, burst, Tabata or HIIT training approaches for increasing your calorie burn in less time.

Dieting tips # 6

Add resistance (weight) training – If you are only cardio training in an effort to lose weight, add weight training as it burns calories as you exercise, but also builds lean muscle. Lean muscle uses more calories to maintain than any body fat it displaces. A lean muscular body uses 30% more calories than a “less lean” body for basic metabolism. Combine weight training with cardio and interval training to maximize your calorie burn and increase your metabolism which continues to burn calories for several hours AFTER your workout.

Dieting tips # 7

Develop a support network – Friends, family and coworkers, the world is full of people just like you that need to lose weight, exercise more and lead a healthier lifestyle. Find them and band together against a common enemy – food and a sedentary lifestyle.
