Inadequate sleep disrupts your circadian rhythm causing stress and imbalanced hormones leading to weight gain and inflammatory conditions.

Television – Television is addicting and a tremendous time suck. The hours you spend in front of the TV every day could be better spent moving and exercising or reading and learning and exercising your brain. The same holds true for video games and social media.  If you claim you don’t have time to exercise, turn off your electronics and you will find time.

Too Little Fruit and Vegetables – Too much junk, prepackaged foods and drive up windows will lead to obesity, heart disease and chronic diseases related to inflammation, like arthritis. Choose instead 4-5 servings of vegetables and 2-3 servings of fresh fruits to provide you the daily minerals, vitamins and fiber that you need to maintain optimal health.

Too Little Fiber – Dietary fiber is important to proper elimination and digestive health. Fiber also cleans your system and lowers your cholesterol levels. A high fiber diet can also lower both your systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Overeating and obesity destroy your self-esteem and self-confidence, leading to depression and more overeating. Many overweight people frequently overeat and indulge in unhealthy high-calorie foods to make themselves feel better.

Too Many Toxins – Choosing foods covered in chemical pesticides, grown in a laboratory or filled with petroleum-based additives or colors will leave you both sick and tired. These toxins cause fatigue, headaches, bloating, aches and pains, even cancers.

Smoking – There are few bad habits more dangerous than smoking. Smoking leads to lung cancer, emphysema, loss of vision and hearing, heart disease, even diabetes. To some level, smoking harms every organ and system of your body.
