Be more aware of how much you’re eating.

You don’t need to clean your plate. Many parents tell their children “clean your plate” before you can leave the table or have dessert. Both send the wrong message and can condition and program us to feel like we have to clean our plates every time we eat. Unfortunately, when you eat everything on your plate, you’re probably eating more than you should be eating. Cleaning your plate (overeating) and then adding dessert are not wise choices if you want to lose belly fat.

Identify and avoid fats and sugar in your diet. Fats have the highest calorie content of the nutrients, protein, carbs, and fat. So naturally, eating more fats will result in gaining more belly fat. Many people mistakenly believe that as long as they’re sticking to healthy omega 3 fatty acids fats such as avocados, coconut oil and olive oil, they can have as much as they want. But if you’re trying to lose belly fat, those fats will add to your calorie totals and could prevent you from losing your stomach fat. Reduce your fat intake and overly processed sugary foods, and you’ll immediately start reducing your calorie intake.
