colon-detoxShould You Colon Detox (Cleanse) Your Colon? Those who support colon cleansing and colon health believe that undigested food residue, especially meat, become trapped in the mucosal lining of the colon.   • Increase your fluid (water) intake to help the cleansing process and loosen stool. Drinking more water will also guard against dehydration, one of the dangers of a cleanse.
